John is an accomplished Recruiting and Business Development executive that has spent most of his career working with professionals in the Mortgage industry. It was always a goal of John’s to work for himself and start a company that he could build and grow proudly. John is passionate about surrounding himself with like-minded colleagues and clients to ensure success both personally and professionally. John resides in Pepper Pike, OH with his wife and 3 children.

Michael McKenna began his career as a sports agent — representing athletes, negotiating contracts, and learning that the best outcomes come from understanding what someone truly wants, not just what’s available.
That foundation shapes how he works today as VP of Talent Acquisition at The Emerald Group in Cleveland, where he focuses exclusively on mortgage, wealth management, and insurance recruiting. He’s not a generalist — he knows the players and operates more like a consultant than a traditional recruiter.
Most of his best conversations happen long before anyone needs anything. That’s by design.
